PLC Cleaning Crew Free Job Training Initiative
Program Goal: This program is a free job training initiative designed to provide participants with the skills needed for future employment in commercial cleaning. The goal is to help participants develop essential job skills in a supported environment, preparing them for potential paid work opportunities after completing the training program.
Training and Supervision: The initial phase of the program is a free job training program where participants learn commercial cleaning skills through hands-on training and supervision. Training is provided by Developmental Service Worker students or Autism and Behaviour Science placement students and volunteers under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A.). Upon successful completion of the training and demonstration of independent task competence, participants may pursue paid employment opportunities in the PLC Cleaning Crew or elsewhere.
Compensation: Participants in this free job training program are not compensated during the training phase, as the focus is on skill development. After completing the program and demonstrating task competence, participants will have the opportunity to pursue paid roles, where compensation is based on task completion. Compensation for paid work will be structured to meet or exceed minimum wage standards.
Work Hours: During the free job training program, participants will volunteer their time to attend training sessions and gain job-ready skills. After successfully completing the program, participants may choose to work flexible hours in paid roles, with shifts available based on task needs and availability.
Support and Development: In addition to gaining valuable job experience through this free job training program, participants will receive ongoing support to enhance their skills.
After completing the training, participants may pursue paid job opportunities and will receive guidance to transition into the workforce.
Growth Opportunities: Upon completing the free job training program, participants will be equipped with skills and experience that open doors to paid opportunities within PLC and other businesses. While the training is unpaid, the skills gained will set participants up for future employment success in commercial cleaning or related fields.
